New Delhi: Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Education, state governments, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and higher education institutions to assess preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the need to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the conduct of the examination. He directed all concerned authorities to remain vigilant and ensure complete preparedness for the re-test.

Focus on Fair and Transparent Examination

Pradhan emphasised that every necessary measure must be taken to guarantee the free and fair conduct of the re-examination. He highlighted the importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders involved in the process.

The minister informed participants that officers designated by the Ministry of Education would be deployed across states to coordinate examination-related activities. These officers will report directly to the Command Centre headed by the Director General of the NTA.

States Asked to Prioritise Student Convenience

The Union Minister instructed nodal officers of state governments to ensure that candidates receive all necessary support and facilities to appear for the examination without stress or inconvenience.

He said special attention should be paid to student welfare so that candidates can focus solely on their examination without facing logistical challenges.

Adequate Facilities at Examination Centres

Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Sanjay Kumar, stressed the need to provide a comfortable environment for students on examination day.

He urged state authorities to ensure proper seating arrangements, availability of drinking water, and other essential facilities at examination centres. Kumar requested state nodal officers to closely monitor preparations and take all required steps in advance.

Coordination and Protocol Compliance Critical

Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Vineet Joshi, described the period leading up to the examination as crucial and called for proactive coordination among all agencies.

He emphasised the importance of timely communication, dissemination of instructions, and strict adherence to prescribed examination protocols to avoid any disruptions.

NTA Working With Security Agencies

NTA Director General Abhishek Singh informed the meeting that the agency is coordinating with district-level committees headed by District Magistrates, state police departments, and intelligence agencies to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

He said all stakeholders are working together to strengthen security arrangements and maintain the integrity of the re-examination process.
