New Delhi: If you travel on national highways or expressways daily, then the new scheme of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has brought great relief for you. From August 15, 2025, NHAI is launching a FASTag Annual Pass, by purchasing which for just Rs 3000 you can travel 200 times toll-free or avail it for one year—whichever is completed first. This scheme is especially beneficial for those who use highways daily, such as

- Office goers (who have to pass through highways daily)

- People working in metro cities (who commute daily from smaller cities)

- People associated with the travel business (such as taxi, delivery, or tourist vehicle drivers)

Where will this pass be valid?

This pass will be applicable only on national highways and expressways operated by the central government. If you pass through state highways, city roads, or state government expressways, then you will have to pay the toll separately there.

How to buy and activate?

It is very easy to buy and activate this pass. All you have to do is visit NHAI's 'RajmargYatra' app or website and follow the following steps:

1. Visit the 'RajmargYatra' app or website.

2. Log in to your FASTag account (your vehicle registration number and FASTag ID are required).

3. The system will verify your vehicle and FASTag.

4. Once the verification is complete, pay Rs 3,000 (via UPI, credit/debit card, or net banking).

5. Your pass will be activated within 2 hours of payment confirmation.

6. You will receive activation confirmation via SMS or email.

Some important terms and conditions

- This pass will be valid only for the vehicle on which the FASTag is registered. It cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

- The pass will expire automatically after completion of 200 trips or one year.

- If you wish, you can purchase a new pass by paying Rs 3,000 again.

Is this scheme beneficial?

If you use the highways 15-20 times a month or more, then this pass will be very cost-effective for you. On the other hand, if you use the highways only occasionally, then the regular FASTag will be better. Thus, this new initiative by NHAI is a great way to reduce toll costs for regular commuters!
