New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken full responsibility for the investigation into the car bomb blast near the Red Fort Metro station on November 10th, which killed 13 people and injured over 20. As part of the investigation, four key suspects, three doctors and a cleric, have been brought to Delhi from Srinagar Central Jail for in-depth, face-to-face questioning.
The four were brought to Delhi early this morning by a special flight amid tight security arrangements. They include:
Dr. Muzammil Shakeel: A resident of Pulwama and a faculty member at the Al-Falah University Medical College. He is accused of playing a role in the planning, logistics, and characterization of the blast.

Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather: A resident doctor at the Government Medical College in Enantnag. He is suspected of helping procure explosives and inspecting the blast site.
Dr. Shaheen Saeed: A Lucknow-based doctor and faculty member at Al-Falah University Hospital. She is accused of providing registration for the bomb vehicle and hosting key planning meetings.
Maulvi Irfan Ahmad Waghay: Imam of the Navgam Mosque in Srinagar, a native of Shopian. He is accused of radicalizing medical students, distributing JeM propaganda material, and facilitating contact with handlers based in Pakistan.
All these suspects were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police and NIA teams between October 30 and November 10. Their custody was handed over to the NIA on November 19. The face-to-face interrogation at NIA headquarters in Delhi will also include face-to-face interrogation with other accused, such as Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani.
The investigating agency aims to uncover the entire command chain, including two unidentified Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed handlers. This interrogation will help unravel the entire chain of planning, logistics support, and potential follow-up attacks.

Security agencies deployed special aircraft and deployed strict security arrangements during this transfer. The NIA also clarified that this step was taken to expedite the investigation and uncover connections between the suspects. Dr. Umar Un Nabi had previously carried out the blast, and efforts are underway to thoroughly understand the role and network of the suspects.
The NIA stated that the investigation is still in its initial stages, and further strategic interrogation of the suspects is likely to reveal important details about the entire network. This move by the agency is considered significant from the perspective of national security and anti-terrorism investigations.
