Narendra Modi Launches Modern Governance Complex in National Capital
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new administrative complex, Seva Teerth, in the capital, New Delhi, on Friday. This building will now be the official address of the Prime Minister's Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat. The central government has described it as a significant step towards a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric governance system.
According to the government, the Seva Teerth complex has been designed to integrate and make India's administrative structure more effective. Previously, the Prime Minister's Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat operated from separate locations, requiring additional time and resources for coordination. The new complex aims to speed up and streamline decision-making.
The walls of Seva Tirtha are inscribed with the message 'Nagriko Devo Bhava' (Citizens are Gods), reflecting the spirit of placing citizens at the center of governance. The government says the complex will strengthen an administrative culture based on transparency, accountability, and service.
The complex was inaugurated on February 13, a date that holds historical significance. New Delhi was formally inaugurated as the modern capital of India on this day in 1931. Therefore, this new administrative initiative is being seen as a continuation of historical tradition.
Along with Seva Teertha, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Kartavya Bhawan-1 and Kartavya Bhawan-2. These buildings will house several important ministries, such as Finance, Defense, Health and Family Welfare, Corporate Affairs, Education, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Tribal Affairs. This is expected to enhance coordination and administrative efficiency among ministries.
The Central Government believes that this new administrative structure will provide more effective services to citizens through digital facilities, improved workplaces, and faster decision-making. Seva Tirtha is being presented as a future governance model that integrates traditional systems with modern technology and integrated working systems.
