New Delhi: The world's largest global brainstorming session on the future of artificial intelligence is underway today in the national capital, Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the five-day India AI Impact Summit 2026. The event is being attended by heads of state from 20 countries, ministers and representatives from over 60 countries, heads of over 100 global tech companies, and over 600 startups. The summit, hosted at Bharat Mandapam, will discuss the direction of the digital future.

Day-long Program and Schedule of Key Meetings

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the summit at 9:40 a.m. and deliver his keynote address at around 10:30 a.m. with international leaders. He will then visit the AI Impact Expo, where pavilions from various countries showcase technological innovations. A high-level session in the afternoon will discuss national and global priorities related to AI. Leaders like Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, and Bill Gates will also be present, where key decisions on investments and strategic partnerships are expected.

Theme for the welfare of all and India's vision

The theme of the summit is “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” or welfare for all, happiness for all, which aims to utilize AI for the greater good of humanity. Prime Minister Modi has already made it clear that AI is reshaping politics, the economy, security, and society. He believes that AI is developing at an unprecedented pace, and therefore, global cooperation is essential to address risks, protect shared values, and build trust.

Special Emphasis on the Global South and Startups

Through this platform, India aims to convey the message of ensuring equitable access to AI, especially in countries in the Global South, where there is a shortage of computing resources, talent, data, and finance. The focus is also on strengthening the startup ecosystem and linking innovation to human well-being.

Eye on the Digital Future

Last year, India announced its intention to host the next AI Summit in France, which is now becoming a reality. The solutions emerging from this global conference could shape the future of the digital world. The world is now focused on how AI will unlock new possibilities while balancing the interests of development, inclusion, and humanity.
