‘Prevention Missing’: CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka Raises Questions Over Public Exams Amendment Bill

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has criticised the Public Exams Amendment Bill, saying legal action and stricter punishments alone cannot solve the problem of paper leaks. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the government must explain how it plans to prevent such incidents before they occur.

Speaking about the Bill, Ranka said the discussion should not be limited to measures taken after a paper leak, such as fast-track courts, penalties and punishments.

He argued that the government needs to address deeper issues within the examination system, including infrastructure, coaching centre regulation, exam scheduling, syllabus reforms and transparency mechanisms.

CJP Demands Changes in Examination Bodies

Ranka also raised concerns over the functioning of major examination agencies, including the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC). He said reforms in these institutions, along with accountability of vendors involved in the exam process, are necessary to prevent future leaks.

According to him, passing a law after a paper leak happens is only a temporary solution, while the focus should be on fixing the system that allows such incidents to occur.

CJP Submits Five-Point Reform Charter

Ranka said the organisation has submitted a five-point charter of demands to the government and urged authorities to implement the recommendations. He added that meaningful reforms require cooperation between the government and all stakeholders.

Abhijeet Dipke Raises Student Protest Concerns

Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said authorities should stop taking action against students who participated in protests over the NEET paper leak issue.

Speaking after returning from Delhi, Dipke said students are not criminals and should not be treated as threats. He alleged that students in several states were facing pressure from authorities following the month-long protest.

The CJP-led movement had gained national attention after demonstrations over exam irregularities and later concluded following political developments, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
