How the Case Unfolded

CBI sources revealed that a businessman from Fatehgarh Sahib had filed a complaint against DIG Bhullar, alleging that the officer demanded a hefty amount to settle a matter in his favour. After verifying the authenticity of the complaint, the CBI laid a trap operation. As soon as the accused officer accepted the first installment of the bribe, the agency’s team swooped in and arrested him on the spot.

Search Operations at Office and Residence

Following the arrest, CBI officials conducted raids at Bhullar’s office and residence. During the searches, the agency reportedly recovered bundles of cash and several suspicious documents, believed to be linked to assets acquired through corrupt means.

Sources say that Bhullar had been under the scanner for a long time due to multiple corruption-related complaints, but this is the first instance where the agency obtained solid evidence leading to direct action.
