CBI arrests SBI field officer in Madhya Pradesh for accepting bribe

Sidhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a State Bank of India (SBI) field officer posted in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The CBI registered a case in this matter on 11 October. The complainant alleged that the accused officer demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000, or 10%, for approving a Rs 5 lakh Mudra loan, which was disbursed by the bank to the complainant's wife.

After negotiating with the complainant, the accused agreed to accept a bribe of Rs 20,000. Following this, the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the first installment of Rs 10,000 on 11 October and immediately arrested him.

CBI Court Appearance and Home Search

The arrested accused was produced before the court of the Special Judge for CBI Cases in Jabalpur on 12 October. The CBI also searched the accused's home, recovering important documents and incriminating material.

The CBI has stated that the investigation into this case is ongoing and other aspects will be investigated soon. Efforts are currently underway to determine whether the accused has committed similar bribery in other cases.

Earlier Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sanjeev Bali, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Health Department, Substance and Food Control Organization, Rajouri District, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, while accepting bribe. The accused is accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The CBI had registered a case in this matter on 25 August. According to the complaint, Sanjeev Bali had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant to avoid taking samples from his shop and exempt him from inspection for a year, so that he could run his business without any hassle.

The CBI laid a trap on 25 August and caught the accused red-handed while accepting bribe. After that, raids were conducted at the residential premises of the accused, in which documents of immovable property worth more than Rs 1.5 crore were recovered. These documents are under investigation.

The investigation is still underway, further details are awaited.
