Heavy rains creates floof-like situation in Fazlika
Chandigarh: As the water level in Sutlej is rising, there is a flood-like situation in about 20 border villages, including Border Security Force (BSF) post in Fazlika, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Under the situation, heavy rains on Thursday have added to the problems for the people as well as a challenge for the administration. The excess water being released from the dam from behind is reaching the border areas and causing havoc.

Fazilka Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu said that the water level has increased over the past two to three days, affecting connectivity to many villages.
Talking to media persons Sandhu said, "Water has risen here in the last 2-3 days. This has affected the connectivity of many villages. Around 20 villages have been affected...BSF post have also been affected." Sandhu added, "BSF and Indian Army are giving us full help."

In the meantime the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has advised all his ministers to remain in the flood-affected areas until the situation is entirely improve, signalling the government's zero-tolerance approach to delays in relief work.
