New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has recently launched a scathing attack on the Central Government's foreign policy.
Rahul Questions Foreign Policy
Regarding Operation Sindoor, he said that after this important military action, no country openly supported India, which shows the weakness of our foreign policy.
Rahul Gandhi says that the Modi government's foreign policy has completely failed, and due to this, India is not getting the cooperation on the international platform that is needed in such situations.
Operation Sindoor
Talking about Operation Sindoor, it was a military action taken by India on 7 May on terrorist bases in Pakistan. This action was taken in response to the attack in which terrorists killed 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April.
The responsibility for this attack was taken by TRF (The Resistance Front), an organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. In this operation, India targeted only terrorist hideouts and gave clear information to the international community about it.
The Indian Delegation couldn't gain support on the Pahalgam attack.
Rahul Gandhi raised the question that after this military action, the Indian government sent delegations to many countries, including the US, but we did not get clear support from anywhere. He said that this is a serious indication that India's diplomatic power is weakening.
Mentions Donald Trump's Statements
He also mentioned the statements of former US President Donald Trump, in which Trump has repeatedly claimed that he stopped the war between India and Pakistan. Trump has said that he reduced the tension between the two countries through trade talks.
Raising questions on this, Rahul Gandhi said, "Donald Trump has said 25 times that he stopped Operation Sindoor; something is wrong." However, the Indian government claims that the military action was stopped after Pakistan appealed through diplomatic means, and Trump's role was not at the level he is trying to say.
Rahul Gandhi says that if India's foreign policy were strong, the world would have supported our operation, but this did not happen. He termed it a diplomatic failure of the Modi government. He believes that the country needs a balanced and strong foreign policy to gain support at the global level.
