      Bolivian military plane crashes near La Paz, 15 Dead

      At least 15 people were killed and more than 30 others injured after a Bolivian military transport aircraft crashed near El Alto International Airport on Friday evening, authorities confirmed.

      The aircraft, identified as a Lockheed C-130 Hercules operated by the Bolivian Air Force, reportedly skidded off the runway while attempting to land in adverse weather conditions. It then veered onto a busy roadway in El Alto, colliding with several vehicles and causing widespread destruction.

      TMC nominates Babul Supriyo, Ex-DGP Rajeev Kumar among 4 for Rajya Sabha polls; BJP raises ‘Non-Bengali’ pitch

      The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from West Bengal, naming Minister Babul Supriyo, former state police chief Rajeev Kumar, senior advocate Menaka Guruswamy and actress Koel Mallick for the Upper House.

      The announcement comes ahead of polling for five Rajya Sabha seats in West Bengal scheduled on March 16. Given its commanding strength in the state Assembly, TMC is comfortably placed to secure four of the five seats. The remaining seat is expected to go to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), replacing the outgoing member from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M).
