Srinagar: In a significant step to intensify the crackdown on terrorism, security forces on Wednesday pasted wanted posters of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Mohammad Lateef Bhat at Srinagar's Press Enclave, announcing a cash reward of ₹15 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
The posters urge members of the public to share any credible information regarding Bhat's whereabouts with the nearest police station or security agency. Authorities have assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential to encourage public cooperation.
According to officials, Mohammad Lateef Bhat is a wanted terrorist allegedly involved in multiple terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Security agencies believe public support can play a crucial role in tracking down absconding militants and dismantling terror networks operating in the region.
The announcement comes amid intensified intelligence-based counter-terror operations across the Kashmir Valley, where security forces have stepped up efforts to eliminate terrorist infrastructure, apprehend wanted militants and their associates, and prevent attempts to revive militancy.
Officials reiterated their appeal to citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious movement or information that could assist security agencies in maintaining peace and security in the region.
