Tamilnadu: Major Tragedy happened in Tamilnadu, TVK Vijay rally death trolls At least 38 people died in a stampede at a rally addressed by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu on Saturday , as part of his State-wide political tour.
As the event progressed, several people reportedly fainted in the crowd and were rushed to the Karur Medical College Hospital and private hospitals nearby.
Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin has announced an ex-gratia of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the 36 people who lost their lives in the stampede at TVK chief Vijay’s rally in Karur.
Actor Vijay first response came just before Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has broken his silence on the Karur rally tragedy, calling it an unbearable personal loss. “My heart is shattered; I am writhing in unbearable, indescribable pain and sorrow that words cannot express. I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of my dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Karur. I pray for the swift recovery of those receiving treatment in the hospital,” he said in a statement.
