A Pakistan-based terror group is reportedly planning a secret week-long training camp in PoK from Jan 1. What exactly are they teaching, and who are they targeting? Security forces are watching closely.

Jaish-e-Mohammed to hold week-long training camp in PoK
Islamabad: Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is planning to hold a seven-day training programme in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) starting January 1, according to security sources. The camp, described by the group as a “Tarbiyah” or ideological training session, is expected to take place in the Mirpur area of PoK.
Founded by internationally designated terrorist Masood Azhar, JeM has reportedly intensified its activities in recent months, prompting heightened monitoring by Indian security agencies.

Sources said JeM is also organising public gatherings in areas such as Garhi Habibullah and Balakot in Pakistan. These rallies are allegedly being used to mobilise support and identify new recruits. Alarmingly, officials noted that minors are present at several of these events and are being influenced as part of the group’s recruitment strategy.
Security agencies view this outreach as an attempt by JeM to rebuild its operational base and expand its cadre following recent setbacks.
Another Pakistan-based terror organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has also stepped up its activities in PoK and other parts of Pakistan, sources said. The group has reportedly reactivated its women’s wing and is conducting recruitment camps aimed at increasing participation.
Senior LeT operatives, including Abdul Rauf, Rizwan Hanif and Abu Musa, are said to be attending these camps. In addition, LeT has restarted operations at a camp known as “Jihad-e-Aqsa” in the Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Both JeM and LeT are believed to be reconstructing infrastructure that was damaged during Operation Sindoor, an Indian Armed Forces operation launched after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, most of them tourists.
JeM has also reportedly turned to digital platforms to widen its reach. Sources said the group has launched online programmes such as “Dukhtaran-e-Islam” and an online course titled “Tufat al-Muminat,” aimed particularly at women. These initiatives are allegedly being used for recruitment, indoctrination and fundraising, with members of Masood Azhar’s family participating in online sessions.
Indian security agencies said they are closely tracking these developments in Pakistan and PoK. Continuous surveillance and intelligence gathering are underway to prevent any attempts by these terror groups to target India or destabilise the region.
