His son and current head of Raymond, Gautam Singhania, confirmed this sad news through the social media platform X. He described his father as a visionary leader, an inspiring personality, and a pillar of the industry. His death has sent waves of grief through the corporate world and society.
Dr. Vijaypat Singhania was born on October 4, 1938. He was one of India's leading industrialists and is credited with taking the Raymond Group to new heights. He served as the chairman of the company from 1980 to 2000. Under his leadership, Raymond expanded beyond the textile industry and established its presence in several sectors such as steel, cement, and denim.
He was not only a successful businessman but also a person with a versatile personality. His contributions gave a new direction to the Indian industrial sector and earned him recognition as a trendsetter.
