Akansh Dhul Secures AIR 3
New Delhi: Akansh Dhul secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 3 in his third attempt, emerging as one of the top performers in the examination.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025.
Academic Background
Akansh Dhul completed his schooling in Chandigarh before moving to Delhi for higher studies. He pursued B.Com (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, one of India’s premier commerce institutions. For the Civil Services Examination, he chose Commerce and Accountancy as his optional subjects.
Inspiration Behind Choosing Civil Services
Akansh's interest in civil services was driven by the significant role administrators play in shaping society at both the grassroots and policy levels. He was also strongly encouraged by his parents to prepare for the prestigious examination.
His father, Krishna Dhull, is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, while his mother is a school principal who previously worked as a teacher.
Akansh recalled that a conversation with his mother about the stark differences between private and government schools further strengthened his resolve to join the administrative services.
Vision for Education Reform
According to Akansh, meaningful reform in India’s education system requires universal access to primary education, stronger secondary education, and specialised tertiary education.
From AIR 342 to AIR 3
Akansh Dhul’s UPSC journey reflects persistence and determination. In his first attempt, he secured AIR 342. In the second attempt, he improved his performance and secured AIR 295, but remained determined to do better.

Meanwhile, Anuj Agnihotri secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, while Rajeshwari Suve M finished second with AIR 2.
Anuj, a medical doctor by training, completed his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur in 2023.
