Uttarkashi: Cloudburst in Harsil valley; Soldiers missing from affected army camp

Uttarkashi: Tuesday became a really tough day for the Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. A heavy downpour in the Harshil valley of the district led to a lot of destruction. Dharali village is the most badly affected.

A heavy downpour has led to significant loss of life and property in Dharali village. Because of the heavy rainstorm, the army camp in Harsil also got affected, and now there are worries that many soldiers might be missing. Dharali village is also close to Harshil.

Besides Dharali village, 14 Rajputana rifle units have been sent to the area. It is said that this army camp has also been affected by this disaster because of a cloudburst. Some soldiers are missing.

Officials confirmed that 4 or 5 people have lost their lives in this disaster, however this data may increase. The event has deeply affected Uttarakhand and has also reached Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are closely watching the situation themselves.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is getting updates and has directed a quick rescue operation. Teams from the Army, ITBP, and NDRF have reached the area. They are using helicopters, trained dogs, and satellite technology to help rescue people who are stuck in the village. The village is quiet now, with broken slippers, scattered toys, and unanswered questions.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on X, "The news of heavy damage due to cloudburst in Dharali area of Uttarkashi is extremely sad and painful.

SDRF, NDRF, district administration and other concerned teams are engaged in relief and rescue work on a war footing. I am constantly in touch with senior officials in this regard and the situation is being closely monitored. I pray to God for everyone's safety.'
