The active low-pressure system is expected to impact Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Bihar with heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The weather system is also likely to influence Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
Several regions may witness thunderstorm activity accompanied by lightning and strong winds as moisture-rich monsoon currents continue to interact with atmospheric circulation patterns.
Weather experts have advised residents in vulnerable regions to remain alert, especially in areas facing drainage issues, river overflow risks and landslide possibilities.
## Uttar Pradesh Faces Flash Flood Threat Amid Heavy Rain Forecast
Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain among the most affected states as the monsoon system intensifies rainfall activity across eastern and western parts of the state.
In eastern Uttar Pradesh, districts including Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hardoi, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shravasti, Unnao, Sitapur and Kannauj have been placed under concern for possible flash flood conditions over the next 24 hours.
Western Uttar Pradesh districts including Badaun, Bareilly, Etah, Etawah, Firozabad, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Rampur and Moradabad may also experience heavy rainfall-related challenges.
The rainfall activity in eastern Uttar Pradesh is expected to continue until October 1, increasing the possibility of water accumulation, agricultural impact and rising water levels in local streams and rivers.
## Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast: Rain, Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds
The national capital is likely to witness the impact of the active monsoon circulation.
Delhi is expected to remain under cloudy skies on September 27, with moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 kilometres per hour during intense weather activity.
The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may settle near 22 degrees Celsius.
Weather conditions are expected to improve slightly from September 28, with rainfall intensity likely to decrease.
## Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh Under Heavy Rain Watch
The Himalayan states continue to remain vulnerable due to the combined impact of heavy rainfall, steep terrain and landslide-prone zones.
Uttarakhand is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 27 and 28. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds may create challenging conditions in several districts.
Due to the adverse weather forecast and safety concerns, the Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended for two days.
Himachal Pradesh is also expected to witness intense rainfall activity between September 27 and 28, with wind speeds likely to reach 40 to 50 kilometres per hour in some areas.
Authorities have advised residents and tourists to exercise caution as intense rainfall in mountainous regions can trigger landslides, debris flow and sudden rise in water levels.
## Southern States To Witness Extended Rainfall Activity
The active weather pattern is also expected to affect several southern states, with rainfall likely to continue from September 27 to October 2.
Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and north interior Karnataka may receive rainfall during this period.
South interior Karnataka may witness isolated episodes of very heavy rainfall around September 29 due to favourable atmospheric conditions.
The continuation of monsoon moisture flow is expected to maintain unstable weather conditions across parts of southern India.
## Arabian Sea Advisory Issued for Fishermen
The IMD has advised fishermen operating in parts of the Arabian Sea to remain cautious between September 26 and 28. Rough sea conditions, strong winds and changing weather patterns may create hazardous conditions for marine activities. Fishermen have been advised to follow official weather advisories before venturing into the sea.
With multiple weather factors remaining active, rainfall distribution across India will continue to be closely monitored. State administrations in flood-sensitive regions are expected to maintain preparedness through disaster management teams, drainage monitoring and emergency response arrangements.
