New Delhi: The monsoon may have officially withdrawn, but rain activity is likely to continue across several parts of India over the next few days. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh may witness rainfall on October 8 and again on October 10. Some higher-altitude areas could also receive light snowfall. Rain is possible in areas including Rajouri and Poonch, while parts of Anantnag, Pulwama and Doda may see snowfall.

Rain is expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh until October 9, while Chhattisgarh may receive showers until October 10. The Vidarbha region of Maharashtra could also witness rainfall until October 8.

Multiple Weather Systems Active

Several weather systems are contributing to the changing conditions. A cyclonic circulation is present around Sikkim, while a trough extends from northeast Bihar towards the northwest Bay of Bengal in the lower troposphere.

Cyclonic activity is also being observed over the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining coastal Tamil Nadu. Another trough extends from the Gulf of Mannar towards the east-central Arabian Sea.
