New Delhi: On the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session, the protest led by the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP) at Jantar Mantar and the demonstrators' attempted march towards Parliament dominated the headlines. The area around the Parliament complex remained under heavy security as tensions escalated. Police used lathi-charges and tear gas to disperse protesters and stop them from advancing towards Parliament. Amid the political fallout, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Centre, accusing the government and the Delhi Police of mishandling the protest.
Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the clothes of the women and girls protesting at Jantar Mantar were torn during the demonstration. He also alleged that individuals in civil dress infiltrated the protest. He questioned who these civil dress individuals were and asked who would investigate the matter.

Responding to a question from the media, Akhilesh Yadav stated that several young MPs from his party were detained at police station. These MPs viewed photographs, met the young protesters, and inquired about their well-being and condition. It was reported that the clothes of the women and girls were torn and that civil dressed individuals had infiltrated the crowd. Akhilesh Yadav asked who would investigate the actions of those civil dress infiltrators.
Akhilesh Yadav remarked that a large number of youths and students sustained injuries during the protest in Delhi. He termed this the biggest failure of the BJP government, noting that they are unable to conduct the NEET exam properly and that BJP members were implicated in the irregularities surrounding the exams that were held.
He affirmed that the Samajwadi Party stands with every student and young person, adding that the party desires a better future for them. He pointed out that question papers for as many as 20 examinations were leaked in UP, questioning how the future of youths and students could remain secure under a government where paper leaks occur.
