Rohtak: Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said strict action will be taken against party members involved in cross-voting during the recent Rajya Sabha elections.
Reacting to the poll outcome, Hooda stated that both the BJP and Congress secured one seat each, but raised concerns over the cancellation of certain votes. He alleged irregularities in the process and indicated that disciplinary action would follow.
“Action will be taken against those five members who cross-voted. There is no internal issue within the party,” Hooda said, dismissing speculation of infighting within the Congress.

He also questioned the voting pattern in favour of an independent candidate, pointing out inconsistencies. “The BJP claims it did not field a candidate, then how did seven votes go to the independent candidate? Cross-voting happened there as well,” he added.
Hooda further alleged that three Congress votes were cancelled unfairly and accused the returning officer of acting dishonestly during the election process.
