The announcement comes ahead of polling for five Rajya Sabha seats in West Bengal scheduled on 16 March. Given its commanding strength in the state Assembly, TMC is comfortably placed to secure four of the five seats.
Among the states going to polls, Maharashtra will see elections for seven seats, while West Bengal and Bihar will each have five seats up for election.
