Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed free gas cylinder refills to eligible women under the Ujjwala Yojana in the Lok Bhavan auditorium on Wednesday. On this occasion, he symbolically presented the refill amount to 10 women on stage. Under this scheme, a subsidy of Rs 1,500 crore was transferred to the accounts of 18.6 million women in the state.

The CM said that before 2014, poor women had to cook with wood and coal, which adversely affected their health. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, providing free gas connections to the poor has made life easier for women and reduced the negative health effects.

Strict Warning On Daughter Safety

CM Yogi Adityanath said that before 2017, the Saifai family was everything in UP, but now the entire state is his family. He warned that if any girl is molested, the perpetrator will have to face Yamraj. He said, "If you want a ticket from Yamraj, molest any girl; you will find Yamraj at the next intersection." He clarified that the safety of every girl, every businessman, and every poor person is the government's priority.

Appeal to Adopt Swadeshi on Diwali

CM Yogi appealed to citizens to adopt Swadeshi on the occasion of Diwali. He said that when lighting lamps, use lamps made by their own potters and adopt the art of indigenous sculptors for idols. He also said that the poor should definitely be helped on Diwali.

Schemes and Development Works Mentioned

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched in May 2016 and has been successful in making kitchens in rural India smoke-free. The state government has decided to provide two free LPG refills per year to Ujjwala beneficiaries. This distribution will be done in two phases in the financial year 2025-26: October-December 2025 and January-March 2026.

UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are constantly working to make life easier for the common people. Citing the Kanya Sumangala Yojana and the mass marriage scheme, he said that women's empowerment is being given top priority in the state.
