Lucknow: Amid the ongoing flood problem in the state, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has taken a dig at the functioning of the Yogi Adityanath government. He said that there is no trace of Team Eleven formed by the Chief Minister and the public is not getting relief.

Millions Affected, Huge Shortage of Food

He said that life is disrupted due to floods in many districts including Mathura, Agra, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Etawah, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Hardoi, Varanasi. People are not even getting food, water and medicine.

The SP chief alleged that flood relief is happening only on paper while the common people are struggling amid inflation, unemployment and floods. The government is ignoring the suffering of the people.

Questions On factionalism in BJP

Akhilesh expressed apprehension of factionalism within the BJP on the absence of officials in the meeting of Women Welfare Minister Baby Rani Maurya in Agra and asked on whose instructions the officials are being neglected.

Apart from that the SP Chief also put the Yogi government in the dock over the increasing incidents of digital arrests and the poor condition of health services.

Flood Update

The flood crisis has become serious in many districts of Uttar Pradesh due to the rising water level of rivers. More than one lakh people have been affected by the Yamuna flood in Agra, where more than 50 colonies and villages have been flooded. In Mathura, the Yamuna water has reached the first floor of houses in many areas, and the administration has evacuated 9 thousand people so far. In Maharajgarh village of Aligarh, 30-40 families are forced to live on the roofs due to floods.

The water level of rivers in Shahjahanpur is above the danger mark, while in Pilibhit, a crocodile also came to the village with the flood water, which was safely caught by the forest department. Ganga, Yamuna, Ramganga and Chambal rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Kanpur and surrounding districts. 13 villages in Musanagar of Kanpur countryside have been cut off, and about 12 thousand people are affected.

More than 60 villages have been submerged due to the rise in the water level of Ganga by more than 50 centimeters in Kannauj. 350 villages are affected by floods in Farrukhabad. Garra river has affected 99 villages in Hardoi, while floods have also affected life in Fatehpur and Etawah.
