“I salute them all,” he said, adding that their commitment to the party’s development agenda played a key role in achieving the historic mandate.
He also assured the people of West Bengal that the new government would work to fulfil their aspirations and deliver on promises.
The results bring an end to the 15-year tenure of Mamata Banerjee and the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), which has been reduced to under 100 seats.
The scale of the BJP’s victory reflects a decisive mandate and signals a major transformation in the state’s political landscape.
Modi said the outcome demonstrated that the BJP’s focus on governance and development had resonated with voters. He termed the result a victory of “good governance,” underlining the party’s commitment to delivering growth and stability.
The Prime Minister also emphasised that the mandate reflects the trust people have placed in his leadership at both national and state levels.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also hailed the result, calling it a strong message against what he described as divisive politics. He said the BJP would work tirelessly to meet the expectations of the people and restore Bengal’s past glory.
Shah invoked the state’s rich cultural and historical legacy, pledging to realise the vision of “Sonar Bangla.”
The BJP’s victory in West Bengal is being seen as a watershed moment, breaking decades of regional political dominance and establishing the party as a major force in the state.
As the new government prepares to take charge, the focus will now shift to governance and delivery, with high expectations from voters who backed this change.
