New Delhi: The last lunar eclipse of the year 2025 will take place on the night of Sunday on 7 September, which will be clearly visible in several parts of the world including India. This full lunar eclipse will last for about 3 hours 30 minutes, in which the full phase will be from 11:01 pm to 12:23 am. This eclipse will occur just before the start of Pitru Paksha, which increases its religious significance even more.

The Sutak period for the lunar eclipse starts about 9 hours before the eclipse begins. This time the Sutak period will start from 1:57 pm on September 7. During the Sutak period, the doors of the temples are closed and all auspicious works are stopped. Cooking, worship and other religious activities are considered forbidden during this period.
