History Of Kushmanda Temple

There is no definitive information available about the age of this idol of Maa Kushmanda. Several folk tales are prevalent regarding this temple. According to one story, when Lord Shiva was traveling with the body of Maa Sati, Lord Vishnu cut her body into several pieces with his Sudarshan Chakra. Shaktipeeths were established wherever these body parts fell. It is believed that one of Maa Sati's body parts fell at this very spot, which is why this place became famous as a Shaktipeeth.

• Devotees should wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and then begin the puja.
• Sprinkle Ganga water at the place of worship. Because Mother Kushmanda is very fond of the color red, devotees should use red clothing and offerings.
• Offer red flowers, a red scarf, and cosmetics such as vermillion, kajal, bangles, bindi, toenails, a comb, a mirror, and anklets.
• Devotees should also offer special offerings of malpua, halwa, and yogurt.
