Sawan Shivratri Date and Timing

The Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in the Sawan month will commence at 4:39 am on July 23 and continue until 2:28 pm on July 24. The festivities for Sawan Shivratri will be celebrated with great zeal on July 23.

Auspicious Timing for Worship

This year, the Nishita Kaal Puja for Sawan Shivratri will occur from 12:07 pm to 12:48 pm on July 23. Additionally, Bhadravas Yoga will be effective until 3:31 pm, and Harshan Yoga from 12:35 pm onward.

Puja Vidhi For Sawan Shivratri

Special worship of Lord Shiva is mandated on Sawan Shivratri. Devotees are encouraged to take a bath in Brahma Muhurta during the morning and clean the temple. Afterward, one should make a commitment to fast. Abhishekam should be performed on the Shivling with Panchamrit made from Gangajal, milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar. Following this, Belpatra, Bhang, Dhatura, white flowers, sandalwood, fruits, and incense should be offered. To please Lord Shiva, recite the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya' or the 'Mahamrityunjaya Mantra.' The puja must continue through all four prahars while remaining awake at night, with the fast breaking in the subsequent auspicious timing.
