Janmashtami: Devotees throng Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan
New Delhi: The Nation is celebrating Shri Karishna Janmashtami with devotion and religious fervour. The main celebration is taking place in Mathura-Vrindavan where lakhs of devotees are flocking the Banke Bihari temple, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Since morning long queues of devotees can be seen at the Banke Bihari temple. The temple has been decorated on the theme of Operation Sindoor.
On the occassion of Shri Krishna Janma Utsav Thakur ji is being offered with the attire made of gold. This special design gold dress has gold and silver threads showing all the seven colours of rainbow.
Temples in Delhi are all celebrating the festival with devotion and grandeur. The whole city with beautifully decorated temples is buzzing with devotional songs and , cultural programs.
At ISKCON Temple in Dwarka is one of the major Temples where Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with grandeur. About Janmashtami celebrations the Temple priest Parama Niyanta Das said, “Janmashtami is a huge festival for us. This year, we are preparing a 1,000 kg cake to be cut on August 16 to mark Lord Krishna’s birthday! Throughout the day, several cakes will be cut at different times to make the celebrations sweeter and more exciting.”

Niyanta Das further said “We’ll also offer 1.8 lakh special bhogs. After the flower offerings, there will be phoolon ki Holi for everyone. With heavy rains recently, we’ve set up a waterproof pandal for 50,000 people to stay safe.”
Likewise ISKCON Temple in Noida has also been decorated tastefully to celebrate Janmashtami. The Temple priest Buddhimanta Das said, “The peacock feather is one of Krishna’s most beloved symbols, alongside the flute and chakra. Through our decorations, we aim to bring the essence of Krishna to life for devotees.”
Buddhimanta Das said that about 5 lakh devotees are expected to visit the Temple seek darshan and blessings of Lord Krishna on the occassion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
“We’re expecting nearly 5 lakh devotees. Special moments of the festivities will include a charming Krishna jhula, cultural programmes, rock kirtans and dramas depicting his life,” Das said.
