Srinagar Witnesses Cricket Fever! GC Srinagar Wins Inter-Battalion Tournament Organized by CRPF (Img: Dynamite News)
Srinagar: The grand finale of the Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament organized by the 54th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was held in Srinagar, showcasing exceptional sportsmanship, discipline and sporting talent among security personnel.
A total of 24 teams from the Srinagar Sector participated in the tournament, with players competing in a spirit of teamwork, dedication and healthy competition.
The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir, as the Chief Guest.
Senior CRPF officials, including Ravi Prakash, Commandant of the 54th Battalion, along with other officers, jawans and dignitaries, were present during the match.
The event highlighted the importance of sports activities in strengthening coordination and morale among security personnel.
The final match was played between GC Srinagar and the 35th Battalion. After an impressive display of cricketing skills, the GC Srinagar team emerged victorious and secured the winner’s trophy.
The 35th Battalion finished as the runner-up after a strong performance throughout the tournament.
The winning and runner-up teams were honoured with trophies and medals during the closing ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai congratulated all participating teams and praised their dedication, discipline and sportsmanship.
Commandant Ravi Prakash also appreciated the efforts of all players and stated that such sporting events help improve physical fitness, team spirit, mutual cooperation and confidence among jawans.
The tournament concluded with a message of unity, brotherhood and commitment among CRPF personnel serving in the Srinagar Sector.
