Dubai: In the Asia Cup 2025 the Indian cricket team made a dominant start by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 9 wickets. It was a one-sided match. In this match breaking a records. Chasing a target of just 58 runs, India wrapped up the match in only 4.3 overs. This is a biggest win ever in the T20 format of the Asia Cup.
In the match, India achieved the target with 93 balls remaining, which is the biggest victory in terms of remaining overs in the history of the Asia Cup T20. India became the first team to achieve this feat in the Asia Cup.
However, globally, team India is in second on the list, with England holding the record for the biggest victory in terms of remaining overs, having defeated Oman by 101 balls in 2024.

India’s chase began in thrilling fashion when young opener Abhishek Sharma smashed a six off the very first delivery. He became just the fourth Indian to hit a six on the first ball of a T20 international, joining Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson's list. He went on to score a quickfire 30 off 16 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 2 boundaries before getting out.
Abhishek’s opening partner Shubman Gill also looked in great touch, finishing unbeaten on 20 off 9 balls. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav also presented a thirlling performance came in at number three and smashed 7 runs off just 2 balls, helping India reach 60/1 in 4.3 overs.
Earlier in the match, India won the toss and chose to bowl first, a decision that worked perfectly. The UAE batting lineup collapsed and were bowled out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs, It is team's lowest ever total in T20 internationals. Alishan Sharafu was the top scorer with 22 runs, and captain Mohammad Wasim added 19, but no other players got into double figures.
India’s bowlers were outstanding against UAE in the Asia Cup. Kuldeep Yadav led the attack with 4 wickets, while Shivam Dube picked up 3 wickets. While, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy took a wicket each.
This was almost a perfect performance by India. The team played brilliantly with both bat and ball. Besides winning two points, this victory boosted the team's confidence.
