Ahmedabad: India won the first match of the two-match Test series against the West Indies in just two and a half days. Chasing a 286-run lead on the third day of the match, the West Indies faltered in the second innings. Jadeja and Siraj bowled them out for 146, giving the West Indies a resounding innings and 140-run victory.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah's lethal bowling helped the visitors collapse for 162 in the first innings. Powerful centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja helped India declare their first innings at 448 for 5.

West Indies suffered a crushing defeat in the Ahmedabad Test. Team India displayed the aggressive approach that was expected before the start of the series. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with the ball, while the Caribbean team struggled to understand the spin of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. After reaching 162 in the first innings, the team could only manage 146 runs in the second innings.
In the Ahmedabad Test, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc just like England. He took 4 wickets for just 40 runs in the first innings and was even more lethal in the second innings, taking 3 wickets for 31 runs in 11 overs.
Siraj took a total of 8 wickets in the match. Ravindra Jadeja also bowled brilliantly in the second innings, taking 4 wickets for 54 runs in 13 overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar provided excellent support to the other bowlers in the match. Jasprit Bumrah had taken 3 wickets in the first innings.
Centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja were crucial to India's innings victory. Thanks to these three, India scored 448 runs to gain a crucial lead over the West Indies. The Indian opener scored his first Test century in India after nine years. KL Rahul was dismissed for 100 off 197 balls. Dhruv Jurel scored 125 off 210 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 104. Captain Shubman Gill also scored a half-century.
