Ahmedabad: India declared their innings at 448/5 on the third day of play at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and the West Indies will enter their second innings with a substantial lead of 286 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja (104) and Washington Sundar (9) were unbeaten at stumps on the second day of the Ahmedabad Test against the West Indies. Earlier, Dhruv Jurel and KL Rahul had scored centuries on Friday. After Rahul, Gill lost his wicket while attempting a reverse sweep against Roston Chase on the second day, taking India past West Indies' first innings score.

In the first match being played in Ahmedabad, the West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved to be a complete mistake. The team was all out for just 162 runs. After this, the Indian batsmen wreaked havoc. Three Indian batsmen, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja, scored brilliant centuries and strengthened the team.
At stumps on day two, India had scored 448 runs for the loss of five wickets. Team India's total lead in the first innings has increased to 286 runs. Ravindra Jadeja is batting on 104 and Washington Sundar is batting on 9. Dhruv Jurel scored the first century of his Test career on day two.
India ended the first day of the Ahmedabad Test at 121/2, still trailing by 41 runs. Earlier, in the first Test, West Indies captain Roston Chase won the toss and elected to bat first. However, on a humid day, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah were able to take advantage of the swing in the air and the seam of the surface, taking four and three wickets respectively. The visitors were all out for 162, with Justin Greaves top-scoring with 32.
In reply, India got off to a slow start, but after a 22-minute rain interruption, Yashasvi Jaiswal recovered and made a good 36 before being caught behind off Jayden Seales. Sai Sudharshan also didn't last long at the crease as he misjudged the length of the ball and was caught in front of the stumps while attempting to pull a good length delivery.
