West Indies Won Toss

In this match, West Indies' decision to bat first after winning the toss proved costly. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah's opening bowling rattled the Caribbean batsmen. First, it was Tagnarine Chanderpaul, then John Campbell, and in no time, West Indies lost 4 wickets for just 42 runs.

Shay Hope and captain Roston Chase shared a 48-run partnership to take the team to a respectable score. Shay Hope scored 26 and Roston Chase 24.

Justin Greaves Highest Scorer

Lower order Justin Greaves played the leading innings against team India. He scored 32 runs and helped the West Indies team to reach 162. The Indian bowlers maintained excellent line and length throughout the innings, preventing the Caribbean batsmen from playing freely.

Siraj And Bumrah Wreaked Havoc

Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah combined to take seven wickets in the first innings. They took four West Indies wickets in the first 12 overs. Kuldeep Yadav took two, and Washington Sundar one.

KL Rahul then proved to be a rock for Team India. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul put on a 68-run partnership for the first wicket, but Jaiswal was dismissed for 36. Sai Sudarshan was again given a chance at number three, but this time too, he failed to find success. Sudarshan managed only seven runs. By the end of the first day's play, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul had added 31 runs. Rahul was batting on 53, while Gill was batting on 18.
