New Delhi: The Indian ODI cricket team will leave for Australia from Delhi on October 15, but the journey will take place in two separate groups. The reason for this is the availability of business class tickets, which are considered essential for long-distance flights. One group will fly in the morning and the other in the evening.
India has to play three ODI matches in Australia and then a series of five T20 matches. The first ODI will be played in Perth on 19 October. The remaining two ODI matches will be played in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne till October 25.
The Indian selectors have taken a big decision keeping in mind the 2027 ODI World Cup. After supplanting Rohit Sharma from ODI captaincy, Shubhman Gill has been appointed as the new captain of the team.

However, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to be a part of the team.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will join the Test squad before the team leaves for Delhi. According to sources, these players will reach Delhi on the day of departure or a day before.
From there the entire team will fly to Perth. A short break is possible between home series. Before this, the Indian team will play a Test match against the West Indies in Delhi from 10 to 14 October.
If this test match ends prematurely, some players can go to their homes on a short break. To strengthen the morale of the team, head coach Gautam Gambhir has invited all the players for dinner at his Rajinder Nagar residence.

This event is aimed at promoting collegiality and positive energy within the team.
This time, India has given a chance to the young leadership for the Australia tour, which is being considered a strategic step for the upcoming World Cup. Making Shubman Gill the captain is a big sign towards the future of the team.
However, experienced players like Rohit and Virat will remain a part of the team, which will provide a good balance of experience and youthful enthusiasm.
