

Australia has announced its squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against India, starting October 19 in Perth. With key players Pat Cummins and Glenn Maxwell sidelined due to injuries, Mitchell Marsh will captain both formats.

New Delhi: Australia has announced its squad for the ODI and T20I series against India. The ODI series between the two teams will begin in Perth on October 19. Cricket Australia announced the players for the ODIs and the first two T20Is on Tuesday. Several players have returned for the home series and Mitchell Marsh is captain.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis and fast bowler Nathan Ellis have returned to Australia's T20I squad. Inglis has recovered from injury, while Ellis has returned to the team after the birth of his first child. Fast bowler Mitchell Starc has returned to the ODI squad, joining Matthew Short and Mitchell Owen.

Short was out due to a rib strain, while Owen has recovered from a head injury sustained during the recent T20I series in South Africa. Left-handed batsman Matthew Renshaw has returned to the ODI squad after two years. Meanwhile, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey will miss the first ODI in Perth as he will be playing in the second round of the Sheffield Shield. Josh Inglis is expected to take over wicketkeeping duties in his place.

The Australian team will be without two prominent names. Star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is out due to a wrist injury, while Test captain Pat Cummins is also out to recover from a back injury. During this time, they will focus on preparing for the Ashes. Mitchell Marsh will lead the team in both formats in this series. This tour will provide both teams with an important opportunity to test their bench strength and strategies ahead of the upcoming busy international schedule.
