This series is the first step in India's preparation for the T20 World Cup to be held in the country next year. This series against South Africa is considered a formal preparation for Team India.
Before the World Cup, the Indian team will play a total of 10 T20 matches, including series against South Africa and New Zealand. Team India established its dominance by winning the T20 World Cup last year. In the World Cup, the team won 8 consecutive matches to clinch the title.

After that, India continued its winning streak for 26 consecutive matches, including seven wins in the Asia Cup. During this period, the team suffered only four defeats and did not lose any T20 series.
Team India's goal is now to further strengthen its position against the team it defeated in the T20 World Cup final. The return of Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya to the team has added strength and balance. The upcoming matches will serve not only as an opportunity for victory but also as practice for the World Cup preparations.
