Bengaluru: Kannada actor Harshavardhini Ranya alias Ranya Rao, who was arrested for allegd gold smuggling, was on Monday remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a special court in Bengaluru.
The actress was in the custody of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). She was arrested a week ago for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 12 crore from Dubai.
According to the DRI, the 33-year-old actor was found carrying 14.2 kg of foreign-origin gold bars worth Rs 12.56 crore.
