National Capital has witnessed several deadly building collapses in recent months. These incidents have claimed lives and raised questions about the enforcement of construction regulations.
A 60-year-old man, Chanderpal, and his 33-year-old son, Vijay Kumar, died after an under-construction building collapsed in northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar on October 25. Their bodies were recovered during an overnight rescue operation.
The two men were inside the structure when it collapsed.
Four people, including a 21-year-old pregnant woman, died after a 25-year-old building collapsed in Seemapuri on October 7. Demolition work was underway around the five-storey structure when it gave way.

On September 6, a five-storey building housing a boys’ paying guest accommodation, Hostel Daze, collapsed in Satya Niketan near Delhi University’s South Campus.
Seven people, including five students and two workers, died in the incident. Repair work was underway in the basement when the structure collapsed.
