The court has set the next date of hearing on November 2. The court has rejected accused Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit’s plea for deferring framing of charges.

Purohit’s lawyer had filed an application seeking an adjournment of today's hearing as he is to appeal in the Supreme Court against Bombay High Court's refusal to stay framing of the charges.

On October 22, Bombay High Court had refused to stay framing of charges in 2008 Malegaon blasts case and had rejected Lt Col Purohit's plea seeking dismissal of charges against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

In the Malegaon blasts, six people were killed and over hundred injured in the blast that took place on September 29, 2008, in the Muslim Majority town of Malegaon in Maharashtra.
