Islamabad: Pakistan former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (retd) Safdar Awan on Monday filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the verdict in the Avenfield case.

As per Geo news, the appeal highlights the legal flaws in the Avenfield judgment.

The appeal even requests the court to declare the accountability court's verdict null and void and release the three convicts on bail.

Sharif's lawyers were in Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Saturday, to get the legal papers signed.

Since there was no time to reach court on Saturday, the appeal was filed in the court today, the last day for filing appeal against the order that was delivered on July 6 by the Islamabad Accountability Court.
