Pakistan’s newly sworn-in federal cabinet has taken a decision to put jailed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz on the Exit Control List.
The cabinet also revoked an earlier decision to conduct proceedings against Sharif inside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where he and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are currently lodged.
Islamabad High Court on Tuesday cancelled the bail requests of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar in connection to the Avenfield properties case.
Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (retd) Safdar Awan on Monday filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the verdict in the Avenfield case.
