Police detain couple having links with Amritpal Singh's aide in Jammu

Jammu: Police on Saturday detained a couple from RS Pura on the outskirts of Jammu for allegedly having links with Papalpreet Singh, the brain behind on-the-run Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, an officer said.
The couple, Amrik Singh and his wife Sarabjeet Kour, residents of RS Pura, were handed over to the Punjab Police after being detained, the police officer said.
Papalpreet has been on the run along with Amritpal since the Punjab Police launched a crackdown against the pro-Khalistan preacher and his 'Waris Punjab De' outfit on March 18.
Meanwhile, an alert has been sounded in Uttarakhand over the possibility of absconding pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh entering the State, informed Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V Murugesan on Saturday.
Murugesan added that he had received inputs from the Punjab Police that the Khalistan supporter who fled from Punjab, may enter Uttarakhand from Haryana. (with Agency inputs)
