New Delhi: As the festivities grip the nation to celebrate Diwali tomorrow, Roop Chaturdashi today witnessed massive sales, particularly of the cosmetics, with an estimated trade value of Rs15,000Cr.
Roop Chaturdashi is celebrated on the Diwali eve to commemorate the winning of good over evil.

Devotees worship Lord Krishna on this auspicious day. In some regions this day is also celebrated as Narak Chaturdash, Kali Chaudas, and Bhoot Chaturdashi.

Diwali day Sunday is expected to foster another massive business turnover, this time in the fruit and flower market, where transactions are estimated to reach a whopping Rs5,000Cr.

The atmosphere is full of excitement, with customers flooding the markets and displaying enthusiasm.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) had earlier projected the Diwali festival's business to be around Rs 3.5 lakh crore, a figure that seems to surpass.

CAIT reported a Rs15,000Cr sales figure for branded and non-branded cosmetics today.

Concurrently, there has been a significant surge in sales of clay lamps, God idols, Vandanwar, auspicious pictures, artificial flower strings, and symbols of Goddess Lakshmi's feet, amounting to about Rs2,000Cr. (with Agency inputs)
