A teenager was found dead with a bullet injury at his room here, police said on Wednesday.

Agra: A teenager was found dead with a bullet injury at his room here, police said on Wednesday.

Station House Officer, Sadar police circle, Kamlesh Singh said, "It cannot be said for sure right now whether it is a case of suicide or anything else. The case is being investigated."

Police said they were informed by the family members of the deceased that he was lying in a pool of blood after they heard a gunshot from inside his room.

The teenager's family members told police that they a heard a gunshot from his room and rushed towards it, they said.

The door of the room was bolted from inside and they could not open it. As the family members broke open the door, they found the teenager lying in a pool of blood, police said.

He was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead, they said.

Police said prima facie it appeared that it could have been some sort of family dispute which triggered off the teenager's decision to shoot himself dead with a country-made pistol.

However, anything could be said with confirmation only after investigation is completed, they said.

The deceased, 18, was pursuing a diploma course in electrical engineering from a local ITI college, police said.

The incident took place on Tuesday under Sadar police circle near the Gwalior-Agra highway, they said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said.

A probe is also on how the deceased got the pistol, they said. (PTI)
