UP Weather Alert: Thunderstorm, heavy rain with lightning may hit many districts of the state
The Meteorological Department forecasts a possibility of thunderstorm and heavy rain with lightning in different districts of the state during next three days, bringing long-awaited respite to the people from the scorching heat. Read full report on Dynamite News:
Lucknow: Here is a good news for the people of the state who have been suffering from scorching heat for quite some days, as the wait for monsoon is over.
In some parts of the state, monsoon is arriving today. According to Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning, thunderstorm and heavy rain in many districts for the next three days.
Yellow alert issued
Monsoon will reach Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj on June 23. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain here.
Besides, different districts will receive rains on different days from June 24 to June 27.
Rain and lightning in these districts on June 23
On June 23, an alert for rain has been issued for Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj and surrounding areas. At the same time, thunderstorm with Lightning is very likely over Agra, Amethi, Amroha, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Baghpat, Ballia, Barabanki, Bareilly, Bijnor, Deoria, Etawah, Farukhabad, Firozabad, GB Nagar, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Jaunpur, Kannauj, Lucknow, Mainpuri, Meerut , Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rae Bareilly, Rampur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Sitapur, Sultanpur, Unnao, Varanasi and adjoining areas.
Possibility of lightning with thunderstorm over following places including Maharajganj
From 23 June to 24 June till 8.30 am Auraiya, Azamgarh Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Banda, Basti, Chandauli, Chitrakot, Deoria, Etawah, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely in Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Maharajganj, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mau, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, SK Nagar, SR Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Sitapur, Sonbhadra, Shravasti, Varanasi and adjoining areas will receive thunderstorm with lightning.
Alert for June 24 and 25
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is likely over Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Basti, Chandauli, Deoria, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mirzapur, SK Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra and surrounding areas between June 24 and 25 till 8.30 am.
Monsoon monitoring, Orange alert issued
According to the Lucknow Meteorological Center, the monsoon is being monitored every moment in the state. Yellow and orange alert have been issued in UP till June 26, especially for June 23 and 24.
