Following the Bihar Assembly election victory, the BJP has launched a strict internal clean-up to enforce party discipline. Former Union Minister RK Singh has been suspended for six years for repeatedly making anti-party statements, along with Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal and MLC Ashok Agarwal.
The party issued an official letter clarifying that this action was necessary due to Singh’s continued controversial and party-crossing statements.
The BJP is having a substantial leads in two seats. In Nuapada, Odisha where the BJP’s Jay Dholakia is leading by a margin of over 33000 votes. Similarly, in Nagrota, J&K, BJP’s Devyani Rana is far ahead and is leading by over 24500 votes.
BJP leaders further alleged that the DMK government was preventing state officials from working independently under the Election Commission’s directions and attempting to influence the SIR process to favor the ruling party.
The RJD leader urged the people of Bihar that they should “drive” the NDA government out of power during this upcoming election. Bihar can only progress if the present Government goes out of power.
The SIR process begins today, Tuesday, in 12 states and union territories, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, with a deadline of February 7, 2026.
