In a video message shared on September 30, 2025, Vijay expressed profound sorrow, stating, "I have never faced such a painful situation in my life... my heart is full of pain." He emphasized his commitment to public safety, asserting that he had chosen a safe location for the rally and had coordinated with the police to ensure security. Vijay's message comes in the response of the ongoing row over the stampede and the arrest of two of his party members. Heavy security has also been deployed at his residence near Chennai. The youngest among 41 dead in the stampede is a two-year-old boy. Others included a 28-year-old woman and her two daughters under 10, and a 24-year-old couple set to marry.
