Chennai: The weather in Chennai turned pleasant on Friday morning amid strong thunderstorms and heavy rains. Because of the rains, several people are facing troubles. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in many areas of Tamil Nadu. An orange alert has been issued, especially in the Cuddalore, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts. Chennai's Marina Beach, Egmore, Nungambakkam and Guindy areas have also received a lot of rain.
The Chennai Meteorological Department said that Nungambakkam, Adyar, Raja Annamalaipuram and Vadapalani have received 4-5 cm of rain since morning. Heavy rain is also expected in other states. According to the IMD, heavy rains may occur in Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa and Konkan in the next 24 hours.
