New Delhi: OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT 5.5 Instant as the new default model for users, replacing the earlier GPT-5.3 Instant. The rollout applies to both free and paid users, marking a significant shift in accessibility and performance.
While users on paid plans can continue using the older model for a limited time, it will eventually be phased out as part of the transition.
A key highlight of the new model is its improved accuracy. OpenAI says ChatGPT 5.5 Instant produces significantly fewer incorrect responses, particularly in complex fields such as law, healthcare, and finance.

The model is better at understanding context, meaning it can recall earlier parts of a conversation and respond in a more relevant and personalised way. This improvement is expected to benefit users who rely on ChatGPT for extended discussions or content creation.
